Spider Saloff will be giving only one public holiday concert — so the veteran Chicago jazz and cabaret singer’s fans better pay attention!

The talented chanteuse’s “Cool Yule” jazzy holiday show will take place Sunday, Dec. 21, at the Logan Center Performance Penthouse, 915 E. 60th. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for the 6 p.m. show. Saloff promises an evening that will include seasonal stories and songs, including her well-known retro renditions of “Cool Yule” and “Boogie Woogie Santa Claus.”

The event is presented by the University of Chicago’s Department of Music, the Logan Center and KMP Artists as part of “Sunday Song Styles,” a new series featuring vocal artists ranging from classical to contemporary artists.

Recently, Saloff has been performing around the country — and around the globe — including gigs in top jazz clubs in London, Los Angeles, Melbourne, Australia and Rose Hall at New York’s Lincoln Center. To date, she has released five solo albums that feature her own original songs and those from the Great American Songbook.
