Man fatally shot in West Garfield Park

A man was killed in a West Garfield Park shooting Wednesday evening, police said.

Gregory D. McKinney, 25, was outside in the 100 block of South Pulaski when he was shot in the back and chest about 5 p.m., police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

McKinney, of the 4000 block of West Wilcox, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead about 45 minutes later, the medical examiner’s office said.

An autopsy found he died of multiple gunshot wounds and ruled his death a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.
