A 16-year-old boy and a man were wounded in separate shootings in the Woodlawn neighborhood Monday evening.

Both shootings were reported about 6:15 p.m., police said.

The boy was standing in the 6400 block of South Dorchester when someone walked up and opened fire, police said. He was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in good condition with a gunshot wound to his leg.

The man, 40, was parked in a vehicle in the 400 block of East 63rd Street when a male walked up and shot him in both legs, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition had stabilized.

Police do not believe the shootings to be related.
