(LINCOLNSHIRE) A registered sex offender was arrested after attending a sporting event at a north suburban middle school last month.

David Wethington, 39, attended a sporting event at Daniel Wright Jr. High in Lincolnshire on Sept. 19, according to Lincolnshire police.

He was arrested Sept. 23 and charged with presence of a child sex offender within a school zone, police said.

He was previously charged with child pornography and aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim under 13, according to the Illinois Sex Offender Registry.

Wethington, of the 900 block of Grant Street in Des Plaines, was released after posting a $2,500 cash bond.
