A man was shot in the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood Monday night.

The man, 21, was walking on the sidewalk in the 6200 block of South University about 9:45 p.m. when he heard shots and realized he’d been hit, police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines said.

He was shot in the finger and abdomen and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, Gaines said.

The man was found unresponsive in an alley in the 10700 block of South Lowe Avenue, police said.
