Forecasters: Flurries, unseasonable cold expected throughout Thursday

Unseasonably cold temperatures and snow flurries were expected to hit the Chicago area Thursday morning and continue throughout the day, forecasters predict.

While high temperatures were not expected to surpass the upper 20s, scattered snow showers will continue throughout the morning and into the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

Winds could reach between 10 and 20 miles per hour, the weather service said.

Forecasters predicted a few flurries to continue throughout Thursday evening, with low temperatures in the lower 20s.

But the flurries should clear up before Friday, as the day is expected to be partly sunny with high temperatures around 30 degrees, the weather service said.
