Police warn of Near West Side, East Garfield Park burglaries

Police are warning residents of the Near West Side and East Garfield Park neighborhood to be alert after several burglaries have been reported in recent weeks.

According to an alert issued by Area Central detectives, the burglaries were reported on:

-Oct. 21 in the 0-100 block of South Laflin during the day,

-Oct. 21 in the 1500 block of West Monroe,

-Oct. 21 in the 3000 block of West Washington during the day,

-Oct. 21 in the 2600 block of West Warren during the day,

-Oct. 21 in the 2900 block of West Washington during the day,

-Oct. 22 in the 2600 block of West Warren during the evening,

-Oct. 23 in the 1500 block of West Monroe,

-Oct. 24 in the 0-100 block of South Laflin during the morning,

-Oct. 26 in the 3000 block of West Fulton during the morning

Police are urging residents to keep the perimeter of their property well lit and secured and report any suspicious activity immediately.
