A woman is facing a misdemeanor battery charge after allegedly cutting a man’s head with a knife Thursday evening in the Rogers Park neighborhood.

About 5:15 p.m. Thursday, a 56-year-old man and 25-year-old woman were arguing in the 6400 block of North Sheridan, police said. During the argument, the woman cut the side of the man’s head with a knife. The man also sustained two minor cuts to his leg as he was trying to defend himself.

He was taken to Presence Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston in good condition, police said.

Monique Jackson, of the 6300 block of North Wayne, was arrested by responding officers and later charged with misdemeanor battery, police said.

Her next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 7, 2015, police said.
