An 18-year-old woman was killed in a shooting early Sunday in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

Alexandra Burgos, of the 5200 block of North Nagle, was sitting in an apartment in the 5300 block of West Oakdale about 12:35 a.m. when gunshots came from outside and struck her in the head, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

She was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 1:24 a.m., authorities said.
