A man wounded in a Tuesday drive-by shooting in Uptown died Wednesday morning.

Leonardo Matias, 21, was shot about 10 a.m. Tuesday in the 1100 block of West Wilson, across the street from Truman College, authorities said.

Matias, of the 2300 block of North Mango, was shot in the head and taken in critical condition to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 11:01 a.m. Wednesday, authorities said.

Police said the shooting appears to be a drive-by and he was not the intended target.
