Police are warning residents on the Southwest Side of two recent armed robberies.

In both incidents, two men walked up to people on the street, yelled gang slogans and took property by means of physical force or by showing a handgun, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The most recent robbery happened at 12:24 a.m. Nov. 15 in the 4100 block of South Artesian Avenue, while another person was robbed about 3 a.m. Nov. 1 in the 2900 block of West 52nd Street, police said.

The robbers’ descriptions vary, but are generally described as two white-Hispanic men, between the ages of 19 and 30, standing between 5-feet-7 and 5-feet-8 and weighing between 160 and 180 pounds, police said.
