Man seriously wounded in Chicago Lawn shooting

A man was seriously wounded in a shooting Wednesday morning in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The shooting happened in the 6800 block of South Talman at 8:45 a.m., police News Affairs Officer Bari Lemmon said, citing preliminary information.

The 34-year-old man was shot multiple times in the upper body, Lemmon said.

He took himself to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he is listed in serious condition.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.
