SHARE Garage fire in Lombard causes more than $100K in damage

(LOMBARD) No injuries were reported after a garage fire Thursday night in west suburban Lombard.

Authorities responded to a home at 21W066 Kensington Road about 9:25 p.m. and found heavy fire coming from the front of the garage and extending into the single-story range home, according to a statement from the Village of Lombard.

The residents of the house were home at the time and evacuated the home safely after smelling smoke, the statement said. No injuries were reported.

The damage of the home and its contents are estimated to cost more than $100,000, according to the statement. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
