A man is in serious condition after he was shot Thursday afternoon in the Grand Boulevard neighborhood on the South Side.

The man, 24, was shot in both legs about 3:40 p.m. near the intersection of 50th Street and King Drive, police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said.

He took himself to University of Chicago Medical Center, but was later transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, police said.
