A man tried to rob a Chase Bank branch in the Wicker Park neighborhood Friday afternoon.

The man walked into the bank in the 1900 block of West Division about 4:30 p.m. and handed the teller a note demanding cash, police said.

He implied he had a weapon, but did not show one, police said. He fled without getting any cash.

He is described as a white man between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-9, wearing a dark-colored coat, a brown scarf and a dark-colored hat, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Chicago office of the FBI.
