Man critically wounded in Austin shooting

A man was in critical condition after he was shot twice in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side Friday afternoon.

The 27-year-old was in the 1500 block of North Lorel at 3 p.m. when someone walked up, fired shots in his direction and ran away, police said.

The man was shot in the arm and torso and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.
