Man shot in Archer Heights

A man was shot early Saturday in the Archer Heights neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The 34-year-old man was in an alley about 2:25 a.m. in the 4000 block of West 51st Street when a male walked up and opened fire, police said.

The man was shot in the leg and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.
