(BROADVIEW) A west suburban woman’s death last week has been ruled a homicide.

Dicelena Lucas, 54, was pronounced dead at 3:57 a.m. at her home in the 1900 block of South 17th Avenue in Broadview, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Someone called 911 to request an ambulance at 11:14 p.m. on Oct. 1, and paramedics requested police “because of the severity of the injury,” according to a statement from Broadview police.

An autopsy Saturday found that Lucas died of “penetrating injuries” to her left arm and her death was ruled a homicide.

Police said Wednesday morning that officers are interviewing witnesses, and the death remains under investigation.
