Three shot on Near West Side

Three people — including a 14-year-old boy — were shot late Saturday night on the Near West Side.

Two men and a teenage boy were standing with a group in the 1700 block of West Lake Street at 11:35 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said. Another group approached them, then someone pulled out a gun and fired shots.

An 18-year-old man was shot multiple times in the body and another 18-year-old man was shot in the leg, Greer said. Both were taken to Stroger Hospital, where their conditions had stabilized.

The 14-year-old boy suffered a graze wound to the side of his torso, Greer said. He was also taken to Stroger, where he was listed in good condition.
