A teenage boy was critically wounded in a shooting Wednesday night in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The 16-year-old was in the 3900 block of West Wilcox about 9:15 p.m. when someone wearing a dark gray hoodie approached and fired shots, police said.

The boy was shot in the abdomen and buttocks and taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.
