A man was shot and seriously wounded in a shooting in the West Englewood neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.

About 3:10 p.m., the 20-year-old was standing in the 6700 block of South Hermitage when someone walked up and opened fire, striking him in the leg and abdomen, police said.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said.
