A man shot Friday morning in the South Shore neighborhood has died.

Cedric Goodwin, 20, was shot in the abdomen, back and left leg about 9 a.m. in the 7400 block of South Euclid, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Goodwin was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:25 p.m., the medical examiner’s office said. He lived two blocks south of the shooting.

He has known gang affiliations and the shooting is thought to be gang-related, police said.

While the shooting occurred about a block from South Shore International College Prep High School, it did not occur along a Safe Passage route, and investigators do not believe any students were involved, according to a police source.
