Man dies after 'medical emergency' on I-294

(NORTHLAKE) A driver died after having a medical emergency on Interstate 294 Sunday morning in west suburban Northlake.

Reginald White, 48, was driving north on I-294 about 4 a.m. when he pulled over to the shoulder for a medical emergency, Illinois State Police said. When police arrived, White was unresponsive. White, of the 3000 block of Roxbury Court in Joliet, was pronounced at the scene at 4:43 a.m., the Cook County medical examiner’s office and police said.

Police said they do not believe drugs or alcohol played a factor in the man’s death, but that they are still investigating.
