Boy shot in Kenwood

A boy was shot in the South Side Kenwood neighborhood Monday afternoon.

The male juvenile was shot in the leg about 6:15 p.m. in the 4600 block of South Ellis, police said. His exact age was not immediately known.

He was taken to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

Police said the wound might have been self-inflicted, but that the investigation was ongoing early Tuesday.
