(MAYWOOD) A South Side man was killed and another man injured in a shooting early Saturday in west suburban Maywood.

Officers responded about 1 a.m. to a call of gunshots in the 2000 block of South 6th Avenue and found the men injured outside, Maywood police spokesman Officer Pirsia Allen said.

Brian McKinney, 25, of the 7800 block of South Winchester, was pronounced dead at 2:41 a.m. Saturday at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Another man, 48, suffered bullet fragment wounds to the face and shoulder, Allen said. His injuries were not life-threatening.

Maywood police declined to say whether any arrests had been made as of Monday.
