Forecasters have issued a freezing rain advisory for the Chicago area from late Friday night to Saturday morning.

The advisory is in effect from 11 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

Scattered rain showers overnight could cause up to two-tenths of an inch of ice to accumulate until air and ground temperatures rise above freezing later Saturday morning, the weather service said. The freezing rain and drizzle could lead to slick roads.

A low of about 27 is forecast for overnight, the weather service said. Saturday’s high is expected to be in the mid-40s, while Sunday will see scattered rain and high temperatures in the upper 40s.
