A shooting in the South Side West Englewood neighborhood left one woman dead and two others injured Wednesday night.

Two women, ages 25 and 21, and a 27-year-old man were in a vehicle in the 6800 block of South Loomis at 6:26 p.m. when someone walked up and fired shots, police News Affairs Officer Thomas Sweeney said. The vehicle was driven to Holy Cross Hospital.

Krystal T. Jackson, 25, of the 7700 block of South Saginaw, was shot multiple times in her torso and was pronounced dead at Holy Cross, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The man was shot in the head and shoulder and was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical conditon, Sweeney said. The other woman stayed at Holy Cross with a gunshot wound to the leg and was in good conditon.
