A man was critically injured in a shooting Sunday afternoon in the Altgeld Gardens neighborhood on the Far South Side.

The shooting happened in the 13100 block of South Corliss about 2:30 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Thomas Sweeney said.

A 28-year-old man was shot multiple times and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was listed in critical conditon, Sweeney said.

Details on the circumstances surrounding the shooting were not immediately available.
