Police warning about recent South Side robberies

Police are warning robbers who have gone through victims’ pockets in four recent attacks on the South Side.

In each case, the two suspects approach people and demand their property, then reach into pockets for valuables, Area Central detectives said in an alert. The suspects brandished a handgun during one of the robberies.

The first robbery happened Oct. 22 in the 100 block of West Garfield, police said. Two more robberies happened in the 5100 blocks of South Federal and South State, on Oct. 27 and Nov. 1 respectively.

The most recent robbery happened Nov. 5 in the 5500 block of South State, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at (312) 747-8382.
