(ELGIN) A lighting store in northwest suburban Elgin sustained $60,000 in damage after a dumpster and the store caught fire Tuesday night.

About 7:30 p.m., firefighters responded to Challenger Lighting in the 2000 block of Alft Lane for a report of a dumpster on fire, according to a statement from the Elgin Fire Department.

As firefighters were on their way, witnesses saw a large amount of smoke inside the building as well, according to the statement.

The blaze was extinguished about 15 minutes later and was contained to a dumpster, outside dock area and the area just inside the dock doors, according to the statement.

No one was hurt, but damages to the store are estimated at about $60,000.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation Wednesday morning.
