(NORTHBROOK) A group of burglars robbed the Louis Vuitton store in Northbrook Court Mall on Tuesday after driving a stolen car through the front doors.

Police were called to the store in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road after mall security reported someone had driven a 2009 Toyota Camry thorough the front doors, according to a statement from Northbrook police.

After driving the car into the store, several people got out and started taking merchandise from display shelves, police said. They then left the car in the store and ran out of the mall to the parking lot, where a second vehicle was waiting.

According to security footage, the suspects were inside the store for less than a minute-and-a half, police said.

The Camry that was driven into the store had been reported stolen to a different police agency a few days before the robbery, police said.

A similar smash-and-grab burglary was reported at the Louis Vuitton store at the Oakbrook Center Mall in Oak Brook in September when burglars drove a minivan into the store and stole more than $120,000 worth of merchandise.
