A 14-year-old boy and a woman were shot early Sunday in the Logan Square neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

A few minutes before 1 a.m., the two were passengers in a car stopped at a red light in the 3300 block of West Diversey when a green van pulled up behind them and a male got out and opened fire, police said.

The boy was shot in the abdomen, and the 19-year-old woman was shot in the torso and thigh, police said.

Both were taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where the boy is listed in critical condition, police said. The woman’s condition had stabilized.

The boy is a self-admitted gang member, according to a police source.
