SHARE Police warn of armed robberies in Douglas neighborhood

Police are cautioning South Side residents after a string of daytime armed robberies in the Douglas neighborhood over the last month.

The four robberies have been carried out by up to five teenage boys or young men, sometimes with at least one of them brandishing a handgun, according to a community alert from Wentworth District police.

The robberies happened:

—Nov. 22, about 5:30 p.m. in the 3100 block of South Giles;

—Dec. 4, about 4:45 p.m. in the 100 block of East 32nd Street;

—Dec. 4, about 5 p.m. in the 400 block of East 33rd Place; and

—Dec. 5, about 3:30 p.m. in the 300 block of East 31st Street.

Police do not have a detailed description of the suspects.
