Three firefighters injured in Aurora blaze

(AURORA) A fire Sunday afternoon at a home in west suburban Aurora injured three firefighters.

Firefighters responded at 2:25 p.m. to the “large” blaze at the single-family home in the 2400 block of Westchester Court, the Aurora Fire Department said in a statement. The fire had started in a garage and was reported by someone in the home.

Five companies fought the fire, which was under control at 3:15 p.m., the fire department said. The residents exited safely, but three firefighters suffered minor injuries.

Damage at the home is estimated at $120,000, the fire department said. The cause is still under investigation.
