Man shot to death on West Side identified

A man who was shot to death in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side late Monday has been identified.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 900 block of South Lawndale a few minutes before 11 p.m. Monday, according to police.

When they arrived, they found Stanley L. Macon Jr., 25, dead at the scene with several gunshot wounds to his head, authorities said.

Macon, of the 2700 block of West Washington, was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:20 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy Tuesday found he died of multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide.
