About 10:50 p.m., a male walked up to a 20-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy at the corner of 88th and Carpenter and opened fire, police said.

The man, identified as Roddy Comer of the 7100 block of South Maplewood, was shot in the back and buttocks, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 12:47 a.m.
