Man shot in South Deering

A man was shot Friday night in the South Deering neighborhood.

The man, 34, was shot about 6 p.m. in the 10800 block of South Calhoun, said Police News Affairs Officer Bari Lemmon. A person walked up to the man and opened fire, striking him in the ankle, Lemmon said.

He was taken to Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn where his condition had stabilized, Lemmon said.
