A Chicago Police officer was seriously injured in a rollover crash on the North Side on Monday afternoon.

The crash occurred about 1:15 p.m. in the 1600 block of West Montrose, police said, citing preliminary information.

She was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in serious condition, but as of 2:30 p.m. her condition had stabilized, police said.

It was not immediately known if anyone else was injured.

Chicago Police had the intersection at Ashland and Sunnyside blocked off for most of the afternoon.

Traffic was diverted for much of the afternoon in a two-block radius surrounding an accident site at Ashland and Montrose where a police cruiser was involved in an earlier rollover accident.
