Cops: Man sold more than 1,000 Ecstasy pills to undercover officers

(WHEATON) A Northwest Side Chicago man sold more than 1,000 Ecstasy pills to undercover detectives, according to police.

Erol Abdiu, 35, of the 3900 block of West Belmont is charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance (Ecstasy), a Super Class X felony, according to a statement from the DuPage County sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s Tactical Narcotics Team launched an investigation in October into Abdiu, a known gang member, police said.

Undercover detectives and federal DEA agents bought 1,100 Ecstasy pills from Abdiu during the investigation, according to the statement.

Abdiu was arrested on a $1 million dollar warrant Wednesday and is being held at the DuPage County Jail.
