$1 million bond for woman charged with fatal stabbing in Robbins

(ROBBINS) Bond was set at $1 million Wednesday for a woman charged with stabbing another woman to death Sunday morning in south suburban Robbins.

Tyronda R. Bennett, 33, faces first-degree murder charges for the death of 32-year-old Diamond Donovan, according to a statement from Robbins police.

Donovan was discovered lying unresponsive in front of a building in the 13900 block of Central Park in Robbins at 6:48 a.m., police said.

Donovan, who lived on the block where she was found, was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where she died at 8:02 a.m. Sunday, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy Monday showed she died of a stab wound to the chest and her death was ruled a homicide

Police did not provide a motive for the murder.

Bennett is next due in court Oct. 9.
