A man was shot and killed Saturday afternoon in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side.

Anthony Jackson, 22, was in a vehicle about 2:10 p.m. heading north in the 700 block of North Hamlin when a car pulled alongside him and someone inside opened fire, striking the man in the back, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Jackson, of the 300 block of West Lexington, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:02 p.m., authorities said.

An autopsy found that Jackson died from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Omar Zegar, 37, was arrested after the shooting Sunday and was charged with a felony count of aggravated unlawful use of weapon with a revoked firearm owner’s ID card, Oak Forest police said.
