Two 20-year-old men were shot — one fatally — Wednesday afternoon in the South Shore neighborhood.

The duo were in the 2100 block of East 79th Street at 2:19 p.m. when they were approached by two people and one of them opened fire, police said.

Drequan Archie, of the 1300 block of East 93rd Street, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The other man was shot in the leg and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition stabilized, police said.

Police said the man who survived the shooting is a documented gang member.
