After nearly a decade of bloviating behind a C-shaped desk of “The Colbert Report,” Stephen Colbert has spent the last several episodes building up to tonight’s final farewell.
On Wednesday’s installment — his last show that isn’t his last show — he cleaned house by hawking just about all of his Colbert kitsch.
“How do you get rid of nine years of collected crap?” he asked. “I did it in the most American way possible — with a yard sale.”
Everything had to go, from an Afghandyland board game to a deeply discounted Michael Stipe.

In a separate stunt, Colbert raised more than $300,000 for charity by raffling off his iconic desk and faux fireplace.
Comedy Central is airing a “Colbert Report” marathon from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Chicago time Thursday leading up to tonight’s final episode at 10:30 p.m.
