His team didn’t win. He didn’t score a point. But for Mooseheart’s Rodrigue “Ceda” Makindu, Thursday’s 53-38 loss to Westminster Christian was a home run.

Makindu, a senior from the Congo, is the focus of an ongoing court battle with the governing body of high school sports in Illinois. He was playing his first game on the school’s home floor, courtesy of an injunction issued by a Kane County judge.
