A 17-year-old boy was shot Thursday afternoon in the South Shore neighborhood.

The teen was shot in the arm and torso about 3:15 p.m. in the 2300 block of East 75th, police said.

He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition has stabilized, police said.

Police said the boy is a documented gang member.
