A man was shot Friday evening in the Washington Heights neighborhood on the South Side.

The man, 30, was shot in the leg at 5:07 p.m. near 95th and Halsted streets, said police News Affairs Officer Thomas Sweeney, citing preliminary information.

He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition stabilized, Sweeney said.

Police said the shooting may have occurred during a robbery.
