A 16-year-old girl was seriously wounded in a South Side shooting late Friday.

She was shot in the buttocks about 9:45 p.m. in the 3500 block of South Rhodes, police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said, citing preliminary information. 

She was taken to Lurie Children’s Hospital in serious condition, Gaines said.
