(STICKNEY) A Forest Park man died Monday from injuries he suffered last week when he fell from a truck.

Frank Desonia, 65, fell onto a trailer chassis on Nov. 25 and injured the left side of his body, according to Cook County sheriff’s police and the medical examiner’s office. He did not seek medical attention for the injury at the time, police said.

Sheriff’s police were first called to his aid about 4:20 p.m. Monday and found him in a truck parked in a trucking yard in the 4800 block of South Central in Stickney, sheriff’s police spokeswoman Sophia Ansari said.

Desonia, of the 1500 block of Marengo in west suburban Forest Park, was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood where he later died, authorities said.

An autopsy Tuesday found he died of hemothorax — or bleeding in the chest — from blunt chest trauma from the fall, the medical examiner’s office said. Heart disease was listed as a secondary factor, and his death was ruled an accident.
