Ryan Majerle came off the bench to score a team high 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field to lead Grand Canyon to a 66-61 win over Illinois-Chicago on Tuesday night.

Kerwin Smith added 12 points on 6-of-11 shooting, and Jerome Garrison finished with 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds for the Antelopes (3-4).

Jay Harris led all scorers with 17 for the Flames (2-6), while Jake Wiegand added 12 points and 10 boards. The Flames struggled shooting much of the night, hitting just 34 percent from the field and 18 percent from 3-point range.

After trailing virtually the entire second half, a D’Juan Miller layup pulled Illinois-Chicago to within two at 63-61 with 19 seconds left, but two Royce Woolridge free throws pushed the lead back to four and iced the game for Grand Canyon.
