Two men have been charged with stealing a Salvation Army donation bucket in Lombard and leading police on a high-speed chase.

Kavin Gipson, 48, of Hillside, is accused of taking the donation bucket outside a food store in Lombard while the Salvation Army bell ringer was inside the store, according to the DuPage County state’s attorney’s oice.

The other suspect is 51-year-old Roosevelt Huddleston of Bellwood. Prosecutors say he acted as a lookout.

They say both men fled in a car and led police on a chase through a residential area.

A judge set bail Friday at $20,000 for Gipson and $30,000 for Huddleston.
